"In the present report finer details of the precipitation patterns for the early months of the year are examined with a view to obtaining a greater understanding of the processes involved. Two different studies are included in the report: the first, is based upon the characteristics of ""rainstorms or synoptic episode"" which are defined to be when 5 out of 7 pluviograph stations in the area report measurable rain in a 6 - hour period, the second, considers ""rain events"" defined as precipitation at an individual station equal to, or in excess of 0.1 mn which is separated from other measurable precipitation by a dry period of duration equal to or in excess of 60 mn." |
