The activities of the grain legumes network (AGLN) coordinated by the international crops research institute (ICRISAT) for the semi-arid tropics are reviewed. The progress made by the network in collaborative activities involving groundnut, chickpea, and pigeonpea since the least meeting in dec. 1988 is examined. The past, present, and future role of networks in AGLN countries is presented along with suggestions for strengthening collaboration. The opprtunities for collaboration between AGLN and other groups interested in research in Asia are reported. Ways to enhance collaborative research on AGLN crops and other network activities are recommanded. |
