A UDC water thesaurus concordance has recently been developed by Environnement Canada throught the use of machine readable data bases*. The ain of the project is to develop tools to be used for the identification of documents conceptueally, as well as throught sematic coupling of Keywords. At present, documents imput to the data base are Keyworded, abstracted and assigned certain water research category codes. On the basis of the coded information throught the use of the thesaurus/Concordance, it is intended to use to assing UDC members to each document.
